FAQ – Sway Theme Documentation https://www.swaytheme.com/documentation Multi-Purpose WordPress Theme Thu, 08 Feb 2024 14:17:20 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.8.2 Cannot upload the theme https://www.swaytheme.com/documentation/knowledge-base/cannot-upload-the-theme/ Thu, 29 Mar 2018 09:52:06 +0000 https://www.swaytheme.com/documentation/?post_type=ht_kb&p=469 Common error: Are you sure you want to do this?

When you are trying to install the theme and WordPress comes back with the message “Are you sure you want to do this?” it means that your PHP has a setting for upload files lower than the ZIP file size.

You need to contact your hosting provider and ask to increase the “upload_max_filesize” and “post_max_size” to at least 32mb. Then follow the theme install guide.

This could also be due to the fact that you are trying to install the wrong zip file. Make absolutely, positively sure you select the “Installable WordPress file only” option. If you select “All files & documentation” by mistake, you will not be able to install this zip as is. Instead unzip the file and then locate the installable theme file within it.

Common error: Stylesheet is missing

If after clicking “Install Now” you see an error that “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet” then you have uploaded the wrong .zip file.

Make absolutely, positively sure you select the “Installable WordPress file only” option. If you select “All files & documentation” by mistake, you will not be able to install this zip as is. Instead unzip the file and then locate the installable theme file within it.

This message is displayed because your server settings for upload max size or maximum memory are not well configured.

Solution:

Don’t worry, this is a common issue, very simple to fix. If you are not used to set your server PHP / memory settings, contact your hosting company to do it for you. This is their job, it takes 1 minute to do. Show them a screenshot of your error, or email them the error message. Ask them to assist by increasing the following values, until you are able to install your theme.

  • memory_limit 256M
  • max_execution_time 240
  • post_max_size 32M
  • upload_max_filesize 32M

Demo import problems https://www.swaytheme.com/documentation/knowledge-base/demo-import-problems/ Tue, 14 May 2019 09:20:34 +0000 https://www.swaytheme.com/documentation/?post_type=ht_kb&p=628 Successfully importing data into WordPress is not something we can guaranty for all users. There are a lot of variables that come into play, over which we have no control. For example, one of the main issues are bad shared hosting servers.

General error messages you might get while trying to import the demo content:

Server error 500

You clicked on the “Import” button and the response from the server was something along the lines of:

Server error 500
Internal server error (500)

This usually indicates a poor server configuration, usually on a cheap shared hosting (low values for PHP settings, missing PHP modules, and so on). Please check with the Theme System Requirements.

Server error 504 – Gateway timeout

This means, that the server did not get a timely response and so it stopped with the current import. What you can try is to run the same import again. If you get the same error, you can try to run the same import a few times. A couple of import tries might finish the import until the end because your server will be able to process the import data in smaller chunks.

Missing PHP modules

Fatal error: Class 'DOMDocument' not found in ...

That means, that your hosting server is missing one of a very common PHP modules and it has to be enabled before any import functionality will work on your site. The missing PHP modules are: php-xml or/and php-dom. Please contact your hosting company and ask them to install that for you.

Fatal error: Class 'XMLReader' not found in ...

Similarly as above, but this time the XMLReader PHP module/extension is missing. Please contact your hosting company and ask them to install that for you. These are very common modules.

Please open a support ticket if you continue to experience issues.

Refund policy https://www.swaytheme.com/documentation/knowledge-base/refund-policy/ Thu, 11 Jun 2020 14:28:09 +0000 https://www.swaytheme.com/documentation/?post_type=ht_kb&p=839 The products that we sell on ThemeForest are digital goods and cannot be “returned”, so your entitlement to a refund is designed with this in mind. Of course, in addition to these rules, each country has its own laws surrounding refunds, and these local laws are not excluded if they apply to you.

If you are experiencing a technical issue with the item we recommend that you contact our Support team to troubleshoot the problem.

There may be circumstances in which a refund is warranted. These are the cases when you are entitled to the refund:

1. Theme is “not as described” or the theme doesn’t work the way it should.

If an item doesn’t work the way it should, we are obliged to promptly fix the issue by updating the item. An item is “not as described” if it is materially different from the item description or preview. If the issue can’t be fixed or it turns out that the item is “not as described” then you would be entitled to a refund.

2. Theme has a security vulnerability

If an item contains a security vulnerability and can’t easily be fixed you would be entitled to a refund.

3. Theme support is promised but not provided

In case you have a current support entitlement, and you are not provided that support in accordance with the item support policy, we will provide you with a refund.

4. Theme support extension not used

If you purchase an item support extension and request a refund of that extension before your existing item support expires we will reimburse you for the cost of the item support extension.

5. Themes that have not been downloaded

If you have not downloaded a purchased item within 3 months from the date of purchase, you may be eligible for a refund. You might have a longer period to claim a refund if you have purchased for personal use and haven’t downloaded the item.

Refunds will not be given for the following reasons:

  • You don’t want the theme after you’ve downloaded it
  • The theme did not meet your expectations or you feel the theme is of low quality
  • You simply change your mind
  • You bought it by mistake
  • You do not have sufficient expertise to use the theme
  • You claim that you are entitled to a refund but do not provide sufficient information as to why you are entitled to a refund
  • You can no longer access the theme because it has been removed or the author who previously provided the item is no longer active on our platform (we advise you to download items as soon as you have purchased them to avoid this situation).
